Thanks to the generosity of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), free credits are available to support the computational and storage needs of researchers interested in exploring the CGC. Each new CGC user is provided $300 of compute and storage credits upon registration. Based on historic costs, this amount is sufficient to complete approximately 40-50 whole exome alignments or about 20 RNA-Seq alignments and differential expression experiments.
Whether you are a new CGC user or an experienced one, the only costs you will incur when using the CGC are those for computation and for storage of any files you upload or output files you generate, and all costs on the CGC are directly based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) on-demand instance pricing and S3 data storage. If you would like help with estimating the cost of an upcoming project, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
Do Even More
The CGC also has funds available for designated Collaborative Projects. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for these projects, which generally involve large-scale data analyses or tool development efforts that will significantly advance your research and that have the potential to benefit the broader cancer research community. If you would like to discuss this opportunity and your specific research goals with us, please contact our Collaborative Projects team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications for Collaborative Projects are accepted on a rolling basis, and requests from Graduate Students and Postdocs are particularly encouraged.
