More than $1,000,000 is available to support your computational and storage needs on the CGC during the evaluation period. All costs are directly based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) on-demand instance pricing and S3 data storage. Credits will be distributed through a fair-share model to ensure as many researchers as possible have the opportunity to conduct substantial analyses on the CGC.

You will start with $300 of compute and storage credits upon sign up. Based on historic costs, this amount is sufficient to complete approximately 40-50 whole exome alignments or about 20 RNA-Seq alignments and differential expression experiments. You can access an additional $1,000 in credits by providing feedback about the system.

We are excited to announce that in addition to the credits available for every user of the CGC, we are now accepting requests to participate in an additional credit tier to support larger cancer genomics research projects. These projects are expected to be collaborative in nature with multiple individuals (who may be in the same laboratory) contributing to the overall outcome of the project.

Up to 10 total projects are expected to be supported with credits totaling between $6,000 - $10,000 per project, as warranted by the project objectives.  

Requests from Graduate Students and Postdocs are particularly encouraged. 

Researchers interested in these projects will be required to provide a description of the proposed project, analysis goals and objectives per the template.
